Dr. LEONG Che Hung, the Chairman, and Dr. Wilson LAM, the Co Vice-chairman of the Hong Kong AIDS Foundation, were invited to attend the 8th National Academic Conference on HIV/ AIDS in Xiamen, China from April 10-13, 2023. Over 3,000 professionals including well-known experts, scholars, field workers participated exchanged academic ideas, and showcased new developments in the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS and related diseases.
This conference was organized by the Chinese Association of STD & AIDS Prevention and Control, co-organized by the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Fujian Provincial), National Health Commission (Xiamen), Chinese Preventive Medicine Association (Xiamen), and the Hong Kong AIDS Foundation. It is the largest academic exchange event and academic conference for HIV/ AIDS in China since 2014.
This year, it showcased more optimized research results, distinctive experiences in preventative treatment, and encouraged a great deal of in-depth academic ideas among top researchers not only in the Mainland but also within other Asian regions. The Hong Kong AIDS Foundation was privileged to be the ONLY Hong Kong-based NGO invited to join and be one of the co-organizers. It is our honour to be part of the event and we shall keep working hard alongside the Chinese Government on curbing the spread of HIV/AIDS, and the termination of this virus by 2030.
