The availability of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) has increased both the number and life expectancy of people living with HIV (“PLHIV”). However, with the need to take medication on a long-term basis, the phenomenon of early aging is appearing among PLHIV, which is similar to those with chronic diseases.
